Amritadi Guggulu

Method of Manufacturing

  • Guduchi and Guggulu are taken along with Triphala. Then added in the double quantity of water.
  • These ingredients are boiled in the wide mouthed vessel till water reduces to a quarter half.
  • Filtration is done to remove the impurities of Gum guggul.
  • After filtration, obtained herbal decoction (Kashaya) is heated till it becomes thick.
  • Added the 24 grams of each of the rest of the ingredients mentioned above, in the herbal decoction (Kashaya).
  • A semi-solid mass is formed. It is mixed well and pills of the size of 500 mg are rolled.

Dosage

2-6 tablets twice in a day with hot water or as directed by the physician.

Side effects

  • This medicine should be avoided by the people having IBS – diarrhea, sensitive stomach and diarrhea.
  • Avoid this medicine during pregnancy and lactation.
  • It can worsen gastritis in few cases.
  • It is advisable to avoid this medicine in children below 6 years of age or prescribed only in lower doses.
