About Kairali Hinguvachadi Gulika

Hinguvachadi Gulika is a herbal ayurvedic tablet used in the Ayurvedic treatment of anorexia, indigestion, sprue and malabsorption syndrome, bloating, loss of appetite, dyspepsia, diarrhea, hydrocele, epilepsy, asthma, cough and abdominal pain. Its effect on the tridosha include the calming of pita and vata. Hingu, which means Asafoetida, is the main ingredient of this herbal ayurvedic capsule. Formulated for Gastric disorders, the Hinguvachadi Gulika helps to cure minor pain affecting the urinary bladder, anus and other organs in the abdominal cavity.

Hinguvachadi Gulika is one of the most commonly used herbs in Ayurvedic treatments. It is useful to relieve colicky abdominal pain arising due to spasm in internal organs such as the urinary bladder. It is also used in treating lower back pain. It also helps in curing acidity and heart burn. Hinguvachadi is also available in choornam(Powder) form. The ingredients include Hingu, Vacha, Agni, Dvipattu, Pasugandha, Hapusha, Vijaya, Trikatu, Chavya, Patha, Pushkaramula, Ajaji, Vetasamia, Dadima, Ksharayuga, Tintrika, Dipyaka, Dvipattu along with other ingredients. When consumed with ghee, along with the first morsel of food, it acts as best Agni Deepak. 1 or 2 herbal ayurvedic tablet twice a day work well to manage day to day indigestion. It is traditionally administered along with buttermilk or warm water. Since it contains salts, this herbal ayurvedic tablet should be given with caution to the people with high blood pressure. It is best avoided in very emaciated patients and in men seeking treatment for infertility because it contains Kshara as an ingredient, which causes depleted sperm quality and quantity infused for long duration. Pregnant ladies and children should also not be given this herb.
