Kottamchukkadi Choornam

Kottamchukkadi Choornam herbal powder is an Ayurvedic product which is formulated based on the traditions of Kerala Ayurveda. The product is an excellent and effective remedy for getting relief from joint pain and swellings and finds a reference in Sahasrayoga and Taila Prakarana.

Kottamchukkadi Choornam is a very effective in giving relief from pain and swellings in the joints associated with arthritis and stiffness of the joints. The herbal powder gives relief from rheumatic pain and swelling and inflammation from rheumatic diseases, reduces pain and swellings during rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, helps during gout and gives relief from myalgia or muscular pain. It also helps in balancing Vata and Kapha. Its Ayurvedic properties include Roga karma (Vataroganashaka), Dosha karma (Vatakaphahara) and other karmas (Shophahara). It is available in choornam or herbal fine powder form. The product is to be used externally only and should be applied on the affected area. Traditionally the herbal powder is mixed with either rice water or juice which has been extracted from tamarind leaves and then applied. There are no known side effects of Kottamchukkadi Choornam. The product should not be applied on the area in case there is active inflammation with redness. The application of the product on open wounds should also be avoided. Consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor, before application of this herbal powder, is recommended. Kottamchukkadi Choornam should be stored in air-tight containers in a dry place. Shelf-life of the choornam is around 6 months.
